Mr. Jim Pinegar
Senior Manager - Accounting Policy, NAIC
Jim Pinegar joined the NAIC in June of 2019 and provides support for the Statutory Accounting Principles (E) Working Group. In addition to supporting the Working Group, he also provides technical and advisory services for both SAP and GAAP. Prior to joining the NAIC, Jim was the VP of Finance and Administration for the AOPA Insurance Agency, which was the largest general aviation insurance brokerage in the U.S. Previous roles include Chief Financial Officer of an accounting outsourcing firm with annual sales exceeding $80M, Risk Management for a Farm Credit GSE and a public accountant at KPMG. Jim earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in accounting from Washburn University in Topeka, KS. Jim is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and a commercial aviation pilot. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Kansas Society of CPAs (KSCPA), and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
